What detergent brands would y'all recommend for high efficiency (HE) washers?

My family currently uses Purex however, I would like a detergent with a stronger scent. There are not many choices for high efficiency washers. I heard Tide is good, but are there any more brands that I can purchase from grocery stores? What detergent brands would y'all recommend for high efficiency (HE) washers?
You are right there aren't many choices. I use Tide and Costco

has HE detergent in powder and liquid that is much cheaper than tide and works well. What detergent brands would y'all recommend for high efficiency (HE) washers?
Can't wait to see what other answers you get because I can only find Tide HE at the store. I have been using Purex in a washer that says ';use only HE detergent';.
I have used Sears low suds high efficiency detergent but my favorite is from Sweet Grass Farm in Greenland,Vt. I found it on line and ordered it. I got lilac and I got lavender..You use only 1/8 cup..it smells wonderful and washes well. It seemed expensive but it was not because it has no fillers. 4 pounds produce 50 loads.
tide HE
I really like ';Method'; brand liquid detergent. You only have to use about 1-2 tablespoons per medium-sized load, so one small bottle lasts a long time. (I think mine lasted 6 months.)

My mom uses Tide and really likes it. My husband finds the scent too strong, so Method is better for us.
before you spend any money, check with the literature thats packed with the machine itself, a lot of what is on the market will not work well or it will gum up the clothing and the machine itself. with the new hi tech machines are equally changed detergents, a little goes a long way. experiment with the combos before you settle in on a regular brand and routine. good luck
