Why don't my windscreen washers fire sufficient washer fluid?

When I try and clean my windscreen the fluid takes at least 5 seconds to come through and when it eventually does it only fires a very short distance, only a few inches. The pumps are definitely working as you can hear them. I have tried using an air hose to dislodge any blockage but this had no effect. Is it likely that there is a blockage inside the tank (from the tank side)? Why don't my windscreen washers fire sufficient washer fluid?
Pull out the pump from the reservoir, it should just pull out. There will be a rubber grommet in the hole and this also serves as a filter. Pull this out and wipe it.

Will be a good excercise to swill out the reservoir before reassembling. Why don't my windscreen washers fire sufficient washer fluid?
Most washer squirters have small one way check valves in the hoses close to the squirters, you need to remove them from the hose(s) and blow them out, pay attention to the direction they go.
You should check the pump thingy, maybe its not working properly.
stick a needle in the holes and free up whats there!! its prob lime from the tap water clooging up the pipes!! try use rain water by leaving a can out side collect rain!!

if this fails try putting some grapes in a bag on the nozzle where water comes out ( crush the grapes up release the juice) or squirt cillit bang on them!!
You mind find that there is dirt in the solution container that is causing a blockage where the screen wash enters the pump.
First thing to do is pull the sprayer pipe off the sprayer on the bonnet. Then operate the sprayer, you should get a nice steady stream of water coming out of the end of the pipe. If you do not then unfortunately you will need to replace the sprayer pump.

If you do get a steady spray then more than likely the nozzle on the sprayer jets are blocked. The best way to clean them is with a fine pin and with the sprayer pipe still disconnected force the pin into the sprayer nozzle hole.

Ja.
get a pin or a needle and find the hole in the little metal thing where the water comes out before it hits your screen. there could be a blockage there. you can also adjust the direction of the flow while you do this
There is a filter in the water pick up in the reservoir.

Check to see if this is blocked as well.

If somebody has used washing up liquid and alcoholic anti freeze in the water it will be 'bunged' up with a jelly like substance.

Wash it out with hot - not boiling - water.

This also clears the tubes and jets well.

RoyS
you should get more washer fluid and try that, thats hard for me to answer
park your car on a dry surface, then hold your washer on for about 15-20 seconds. wait for a minute and check under your car for water leaks, if there are you have a leak in the washer pipe.

if not check the bottom of the washer reservoir for blockage.

still no luck then try cleaning the jets with a needle.

if all this fails just take your car out in the rain or employ a small child to sit on the roof of your car with a water pistol, squirting your screen when you knock the roof

good luck
