How do you remove the hot and cold handles to replace washers from a bathroom faucet?

You will need a screwdriver to remove the handles, and you will need an adjustable crescent wrench to remove the valve. Be sure you turn off the shut-off valves under the sink before you do this! Then you just unscrew the valve (counterclockwise), replace the washer, and screw it back in again, making sure it is tight. Put on the handles, turn them on to check for leaks. If you don't already have the replacement washers, and you don't know exactly what kind to get, just take the whole valve into a plumbing or building/hardware supply store and they'll help you find the right ones. How do you remove the hot and cold handles to replace washers from a bathroom faucet?

Take a close up picture of the knobs and one of the faucet with your cell phone cam.

Go to your local hardware store and they should be able to show you exactly how to do it.
remove the buttons that say H and C under that is a screw remove this and pull off the handles if they are stuck there is a tool that can help you remove them at your hardware store
close the main faucet first. Then you can replace the washers.
It depends on the brand, but basically...

there is a tiny screw holding the handle onto the stem. Sometimes its under a cap on top (under the H for hot) or its under the handle barely noticable. It will be soo small that only a eyeglass screwdriver will be able to get to it. You get thos off and take them to the hardware store. You will need them to math up the replacements. Inside the replacements you will find instructions. If you are having some leaks you can unscrew the stem and get some replacement washers at this point as well. Its really not too complicated, the items can only go back in one way. Just make sure to turn off the water at the shut off valves under the sink first.

Good Luck,
