I'm trying/starting to go the ';green'; route and heard that cold water is the best way to wash clothes but what detergent should I use. Tide doesn't have Tide Cold Water for HE washers. Is there another brand I can try?What is the best detergent to use with high efficiency washers?
Good for you! Cold water does save on the energy used to wash, as does HE. You can also continue your green quest by using earth friendly detergents made for HE. We use Seventh Generation and also Earth Friendly ECOS detergents. They do a great job in cold water, HE, pleasant mild scent, and good for the water supply. They sell specific HE detergent, even Tide coldwater now. I get mine at K-mart, but Wal-Mart and Target etc. probably sell it.
