Using a manual eyelet tool to insert washers into shower curtains?

I recently purchased an eyelet tool and wahshers to put in my showert cortain to hang it up. It is a Prym Sewing extra large eyelet tool which I picked up at Wal Mart.

the instructions arent very clear to me, and Ive never used this tool before. If anyone has used this before or knows hoew to, help is very much appreciated.Using a manual eyelet tool to insert washers into shower curtains?
first you have to mark where you want the eyelets to be then you have to puncture a small hole in the fabric. put the round peice in the hole and put the steel rod on top of it and whack it gently with a hammer. the round washer will spread and flatten and work for your shower curtain.hope i explained this so you can understand.Using a manual eyelet tool to insert washers into shower curtains?
How obscure!

If it is what I think it is, the eyelets (washers) are two parts. One part is mostly flat, and the other has a little bit of a very short 'tube' that projects up from the middle.

(Yep, I just checked thier website) For the largest ones, they say you need to use a hammer with the tool.

You lay the bottom half of the eyelet on a firm surface, place the fabric over it, and insert the second half of the eyelet on top.

Keeping it all firmly together, position the tool over the top piece and strike it firmly - sometimes two or three times. This will both push the tube through the material, as well as flaring it out and curlling it over, effectively locking the two metal pieces together, with the cloth between them.

Definitely practice on some scrap cloth first.

Good Luck

Mike
