I have a front load washing machine and under the rubber part where the door closes, it is full of mold and mildew. First it is hard to get to and second I am not sure what will bring it off. I would love help if anyone has experienced this problem as well. How to clean mold and mildew from front load washers?
Yes, I have experience with this problem and I am familiar with a new washer cleaner called affresh. You can find the cleaner at your local Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowe's or even online at affresh.com.
The affresh power puck tablets use oxygenated bubbling action to penetrate hard-to-reach areas and quickly lift away residue. sturdy grit grabber cloths are specially designed to help remove odor-causing residue from parts of your washer that are within your reach - like the rubber door seal. How to clean mold and mildew from front load washers?
you could put bleach on it and allow it to soak.. the bleach will kill the mold and mildew. make sure to protect you floor.. you may have to remove the rubber and soak it in bleach water or even lysol w/ bleach to get rid of the stains..
Good luck..
Use a cleaner that has bleach in it. From this point on though, make sure to just dry that part (with a towel you're about to throw in the washer) to eliminate the mold/mildew from starting again.
Mix 10% bleach in water (1:10 ratio) and wipe (don't spray) with a rag. Should take care of it.
I would try Clorox Spray Bleech in the bottle. I use it around the house in the areas I can and it works great.
hot water and bleach
