well the way I perceive this is that they are what we call in GB shake proof washers which are shaped like normal washers but they are ribbed to stay tight under vibration the washers mentioned above are called tab washersWhat are tooth lock washers and fender washers in the UK ?
.Tooth lock washers I would say are what we call tit washers,they have a tit that fits into a groove in the bolt,they were used mainly on heavy vehicle door hinges,the ones that turned on a brass ball. Fender washers I think are what we call wing washers, they are normal flat washers but are about one and a half ins in diameter and are used when a fixing bolt has been torn through the sheet metal,yes I am often lost with these strange words.
use these with castellated nuts...tighten nut and torque then bend tab from washerb inti keyway on shaft this stops nut coming undone
